One of the most widely used and non-invasive diagnostic methods is the urea breath test. It is preferred due to its ease of use and high accuracy, making it more acceptable to patients. If the test comes back positive, a targeted eradication therapy should be initiated, which often includes a combination of antibiotics and acid-suppressing agents like omeprazole.

Duration of Omeprazole Use in H. pylori Treatment

In cases where H. pylori is present, omeprazole is typically used as part of a triple or quadruple therapy regimen. The treatment duration should last for at least four weeks to ensure the bacteria are effectively eradicated and the ulcer has sufficient time to heal properly.
