Gallbladder Inflammation Symptoms and Treatment Options

Gallbladder inflammation, or cholecystitis, can cause a range of uncomfortable symptoms, and treatment often depends on the severity of the condition. In mild cases where bloating and discomfort are present, dietary changes are usually sufficient to manage the issue. It is recommended to reduce the intake of high-fat and high-cholesterol foods, while completely avoiding oily, fried, spicy, or stimulant-rich meals. Alcohol and tobacco should also be avoided to prevent aggravating the condition.

When symptoms persist despite dietary adjustments, doctors may prescribe bile-stimulating medications such as Capsule Chushu or Danshi Litong. These medicines help improve bile flow and reduce discomfort. However, during acute flare-ups marked by intense abdominal pain, a more comprehensive treatment approach is required. In such cases, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic drugs are often added to the treatment plan to provide rapid symptom relief.

For patients who do not respond well to conservative treatments, surgical evaluation becomes necessary. Surgery, such as cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder), may be recommended to prevent recurrent episodes and improve quality of life.

Long-term management of gallbladder health heavily relies on consistent dietary control. Maintaining a balanced, low-fat diet can significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of gallbladder attacks. Adopting healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes is key to preventing future complications related to gallbladder inflammation.
