When gallbladder inflammation and reflux occur, patients often experience dull or distended pain in the upper right abdomen, and may also have clear tenderness upon percussion. In more severe cases, this condition can even be accompanied by fever. As the gallbladder contracts, bile is supposed to flow through the bile duct into the duodenum. However, due to pathological factors such as gallstones or polyps, the bile may not be able to drain properly, leading to symptoms of cholecystitis. These symptoms include distension, dull pain, tenderness, rebound tenderness, and a positive Murphy's sign in the upper right quadrant. If infection develops, patients may also experience elevated body temperature and increased white blood cell count.

If left untreated, gallbladder inflammation can lead to serious complications. For mild symptoms, anti-inflammatory and bile-promoting medications such as Xiaoyan Lidan tablets or Danshu capsules can be used to relieve discomfort. However, to address the underlying issue, surgical removal of the gallbladder is often necessary. Currently, about 95% of gallbladder removal surgeries are performed using laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This minimally invasive procedure involves cutting off the cystic duct and artery and removing the diseased gallbladder from the liver bed. By eliminating the source of the pathology, symptoms can be effectively controlled and long-term relief can be achieved.
