What To Do About Stomach Tumors

There are several types of tumors that can develop in the stomach, including gastric polyps, submucosal tumors, gastric lymphomas, and gastric cancer. Each type requires a different approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Gastric polyps are typically treated with endoscopic electrocautery, a minimally invasive procedure that offers a quick recovery and minimal trauma. However, for more advanced gastric cancer, comprehensive imaging of the chest and abdomen is necessary to check for distant lymph node or organ metastases. If no metastasis is found, surgical removal of the tumor can be considered.

When distant metastases are detected, systemic treatments such as chemotherapy or targeted therapy are generally recommended. These treatments aim to control the disease and improve quality of life through personalized approaches and supportive care.
