Early Signs and Symptoms of Stomach Tumors You Shouldn't Ignore

Stomach tumors, particularly gastric cancer, often do not present clear symptoms in the early stages. Many people may not experience abdominal pain and may only feel a slight sense of fullness or bloating. There may be no signs of gastrointestinal bleeding, weight loss, or fatigue, which makes early detection especially difficult. Because early-stage gastric cancer is often asymptomatic or shows non-specific symptoms, it's crucial for individuals over the age of 50, those with a family history, or those experiencing persistent stomach discomfort to undergo regular endoscopic screenings.

When symptoms do begin to appear, they can indicate that the tumor has progressed beyond the early stage. Common signs include upper abdominal discomfort, especially after eating, and a feeling of bloating that doesn't go away. Some patients may experience gastrointestinal bleeding, which can manifest as black stools or vomiting blood. In more advanced cases, a noticeable lump may be felt in the upper abdomen. Progressive weight loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, and vomiting after meals are also warning signs that the cancer may be advancing. These symptoms often indicate a more serious stage of the disease and should be evaluated by a medical professional immediately. Early diagnosis through routine checkups remains the best defense against stomach cancer.
