Warning Signs in Advanced Stages of Gastric Cancer

Gastric cancer is a severe form of malignant tumor, and patients in the advanced stages often experience a range of critical symptoms due to widespread metastasis. Common sites of cancer spread include the liver, abdominal cavity, intestines, lungs, and even the brain. As the disease progresses to its final stages, patients may display several alarming signs that indicate the body is beginning to shut down.

One of the most prominent symptoms before death is intense pain, particularly in the abdominal region, accompanied by bloating and significant discomfort. Additionally, the accumulation of fluid in the abdomen—known as ascites—can become severe, leading to further distress. Gastrointestinal bleeding may also occur in large amounts, which can result in shock and other life-threatening complications.

In the terminal phase, patients often become increasingly drowsy and may eventually slip into a coma. Difficulty breathing and rapid respiration are also commonly observed, signaling respiratory distress. Other critical signs include heart failure, a complete lack of urination, cold extremities, and a general decline in bodily functions.

These symptoms collectively suggest that the patient is approaching the end of life, and appropriate palliative care should be considered to ensure comfort and dignity during this time.
