Daily blood tests help ensure that dangerous imbalances are caught early. Maintaining proper acid-base balance is equally important—metabolic acidosis is common in kidney failure and must be corrected to avoid worsening symptoms like fatigue, confusion, or cardiac issues.

In addition to medical treatments, nutritional support plays a vital role in recovery. A diet low in sodium, potassium, and protein may be recommended temporarily to reduce strain on the kidneys. Hydration should be carefully managed—too little or too much fluid can both pose risks.
