An isolated elevation in IgG on a lab report does not automatically confirm a specific diagnosis. Many factors—including recent illness, vaccination status, age, and overall health—can influence immunoglobulin levels. Therefore, healthcare providers must interpret these results within the broader clinical context, considering symptoms, medical history, and additional laboratory findings such as inflammatory markers, liver function tests, and autoantibody panels.

In some instances, slightly elevated IgG may even be found in otherwise healthy individuals without any apparent disease. However, when combined with symptoms like fatigue, joint pain, recurrent infections, or unexplained organ dysfunction, further investigation becomes necessary.
