Neurological Disorders Overview

Neurology, often referred to as the department of brain diseases in traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, was previously known as the neurology department. According to the requirements of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is now commonly called the brain disease department, although the meaning remains the same. Any condition that affects the nervous system falls under the category of neurological diseases.

Common Neurological Conditions

Some of the most frequently encountered neurological disorders in clinical practice include headaches, dizziness, cerebrovascular diseases, stroke, hemiplegia, language disorders, facial paralysis, quadriplegia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, common mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and insomnia are also classified under neurological disorders.

Understanding the Link with Hypertension

Hypertension can also be categorized as a neurological disorder. Today, it is recognized under both cardiology and neurology. This dual classification highlights the interconnected nature of bodily systems and the impact hypertension can have on neurological health.

Muscle-Related Neurological Disorders

All types of muscle-related conditions, such as muscle weakness, atrophy, myasthenia, and tremors, are also considered part of the neurological disease spectrum. These disorders often require specialized care and management strategies tailored to the individual's specific neurological needs.
