Mood swings and increased irritability are also frequently observed, making it harder to maintain stable relationships or manage daily responsibilities.

Physical and Sleep-Related Symptoms

Depression can also lead to significant changes in sleep patterns. Some individuals may suffer from insomnia, while others may sleep excessively. A decrease in appetite often leads to unintended weight loss, further impacting overall health and energy levels. These physical symptoms can exacerbate emotional distress, creating a difficult cycle to break without proper support and treatment.
