Liver cirrhosis patients usually have a weakened ability to process proteins and fats, and consuming even slightly more than their tolerance level can lead to digestive issues such as diarrhea.

Maintaining a proper diet is crucial for managing liver cirrhosis. While protein intake is necessary, it should be introduced gradually and carefully based on the patient's individual tolerance. A low-fat diet is generally recommended to reduce strain on the liver and prevent digestive distress.

Infections caused by bacterial translocation due to diarrhea can significantly worsen liver function. This occurs when gut bacteria move into the abdominal cavity, leading to potentially life-threatening infections. As a result, patients must monitor their dietary choices closely to avoid triggering such complications. Always consult with a healthcare provider before making any significant changes to the diet.
