Membranous Ventricular Septal Aneurysm: Diagnostic Methods and Prevention

Membranous ventricular septal aneurysm is a type of ventricular septal defect. Cardiac catheterization is a more invasive diagnostic method that may be used to confirm the diagnosis and determine the optimal timing for surgical intervention. It allows for direct measurement of pressures within the heart chambers and can help assess the severity of the defect.

Preventive Measures

While not all cases of membranous septal aneurysm can be prevented, certain precautions during pregnancy may reduce the risk. Expectant mothers are advised to maintain a healthy diet and limit the consumption of processed foods containing artificial additives. Additionally, avoiding exposure to environments with high levels of heavy metals may help in reducing the likelihood of congenital heart defects.
