Rapid Heart Arrhythmias and Breathing Difficulties

Tachycardia, or abnormally fast heart rhythms, can significantly impair heart function. When the heart beats excessively fast—sometimes reaching 200 to 300 beats per minute—it may not pump blood effectively. If this condition persists without medical intervention, it can lead to hemodynamic instability and heart failure. Slow Heart Arrhythmias and Respiratory Effects

On the other hand, bradycardia, or abnormally slow heart rhythms, can also lead to breathing problems. If the heart rate drops too low and remains untreated, it may result in decreased cardiac output. Without proper treatment—such as pacemaker implantation or medication to increase heart rate—the heart may become unable to supply sufficient blood to the body, ultimately causing heart failure. When heart failure develops, patients may experience shortness of breath, fatigue, and reduced exercise tolerance.

When a person with arrhythmia starts experiencing breathing difficulties, it often indicates that heart function has already been compromised.
